Anybody ever own a 99 Harley FXR2? If so, how would it compare to the CB1100?
This CB100? https://www.cyclechaos.com/wiki/Honda_CB100

I took my Navy riding course on one back in ‘75. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t compare at all to an FXR2 Big Grin
Compare in what respect?

Several years ago (2008?) I test rode a used Sportster and a new Dyna (FXR successor), back to back on highway 101 in Camarillo. Not much difference between the two, just accelerating and cruising. Would have been different in the canyons. Weight feels lower than CB. Acceleration similar, if the CB not reved past 6K RPM.
I'm not sure how you would compare the two but FXRs are nice bikes. I guess you might see a similarity in the side covers, FXRs have the same triangle shaped cover inside the frame rails.

The '99 FXR2 & FXR3 were the 1st year for what is now the very popular CVO line, that may add some collectability but as with most late model vehicles by the time it is worth anything (if ever) we'll be long gone. Some guys do go nuts for FXRs though, until very recently they were the best handling Harleys.

The Evolution motor is pretty much bullet proof too. I would snap it up if the price right and it is well taken care of.

In respect to handling and performance. I love the way my CB handles and the power as great and smooth as silk. I have never really been interested in Harley's but I like the look and design of the FXR2. The one the dealer has here is very pretty and I like the riding position. Since it is a 99 with about 7,500 miles I have been tempted to buy it, maybe as an alternative to the CB. I doubt I will do it since the new 2014 I should be getting in a couple of weeks is priced a little less.
