I was recently contacted by someone who lost his best friend to a heart attack on Saturday (Feb. 21). He wanted to let me know as his friend was a member of this forum. I would have posted this note earlier, but was not able to confirm the identity of the forum member until this evening. I'm very sad to report that OldF7Guy (Eric) has passed.

I believe that Eric had been planning to join some of you at the upcoming rally. He had signed up with the forum on the very first day and was a notable presence here. I'm really at a loss for much more to say at this point. Eric will obviously be missed on all accounts.
That's saddening news. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends. If any one can pass that on I would be grateful.

As we all know, Eric was an active and genial member of the forum and I, for one, looked forward to meeting him at the rally. Sadly, for us all, that will not happen.

Tony.
Damn. Rest in peace old friend.

Chip
What a sad thing. Eric's enthusiasm to own a CB1100 was boundless and he was so excited when he finally got to take it home.

I'm also deeply saddened not to be meeting him in May.

RIP Eric.

George
How very sad to hear this news...thanks Guth, for letting us know.
Bummer. Never good to hear.
Went back though OldF7Guy (Eric) threads, he was truly one of us.
RIP Eric, RIDE ON!
TINK
I am sorry to learn this very bad news.

All my condolences to his family and his friends.
What terrible and heartbreaking news. OldF7Guy was one of our originals and further back that that really, over on the ADV forum. Always enjoyed his posts and like Ptero was looking forward to meeting him at the rally. Will try and think of someway to honor him while we are there.

We never know how much time we have on this planet, and would do well to remember that as we live life everyday. Motorcycling is dangerous, but so is just living.

RIP Eric, hope they have old Kawasaki Enduros, and a fleet of CB 1100's for you to enjoy in heaven brother.

Condolences to family and friends.
Terrible news. R.I.P. Eric
My prayers are with you Eric. Be at peace.
