Mt Rainier fall ride - kennyw - 09-11-2017 06:27 AM

Who would be interested in a fall ride up to Mt. Rainier? I have Sept 17, 24, or 30th open on my calendar.

The forecast for the 17th is currently 40% chance of rain and the 24th is looking dry (both likely to change).

For me the 24th works best, then the 30th next.

The chance of rain went up to 80% on the 17th anyway. Sounds like the 24th is best for now.

I like it. Let me know the details.

Hey Kenny - great idea! We were just up there two days ago, very very smokey on the Sunrise side, in fact Sunrise Road is closed, as is Chinook Pass. Otherwise, great riding as always. Of the dates you gave, I only have Sep 30 open, or I could do Sat Sep 23 if that works.

I have a class Saturday evening the 23rd in Everett. That would be tough to get to on time after Rainier.

I did forget about checking how the smoke/ fires are affecting roads.

Sounds like hwy 410 will open today. The recent rain is helping.

Hi- sorry I'm gonna have to back out. Mom is going into hospice care this weekend and the family is gathering. A nice ride is probably what my brain needs now though.

It sounds like the 30th will work the best then. Right now the forecast is currently for dry weather and 70 degrees at sea level.

Mt Rainier may not be the best place to go. There is snow sticking at Paradise right now and they are expecting more.
