Probably true, but I must confess I've been lusting after that 2018 Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster...haven't stopped thinking about it since another forum member posted the first picture of it. I think I may have to have one, and I only have budget and room for one bike. Thus, my interest in the resale value of my DLX Smile Not fully decided yet, but my obsession with that new Speedmaster is undeniable. God help me Smile

Oh, dear, poor kvdv. The siren call of a new bike. I hope your God looks after you. Smile

Seems like a really good deal considering what I paid for my 2014 with 800 miles on it ! Which was about a grand more than that. At a dealer though. There were people in line waiting to see if I took it, so a CB1100 may be an easy sell depending on what part of the country you are in. My neighbor has a 2003 Goldwing....he just took it in for it's 200,000 mile tuneup. Never a serious problem with it, just a few switches and normal maint.

Moto lust = mucho dinero no matter how you look at it. The good thing is you can't take it with you

Moto-lust hits me each winter. Somehow I rationalize that buying another bike then will make spring arrive that much sooner, but of course it doesn't. For buyers like me, winter is a great time for folks to sell their bike.

BMW is currently offering 0% financing and free goodies on select '16 and '17 leftovers. Thankfully they don't have anything that pushes my buttons or I'd be in lust-mode right now.

Out of over a dozen bikes, I have been fortunate to pick up a couple of left overs for less than factory MSRP:
1985 BMW K100RS in March 1986 for $6000 (MSRP was $7200)
2000 Kaw W650 in April of 2000 for $4995 (MSRP was approx $6300)
2008 Guzzi 1200 Sport in Oct 2009 for $8499 (MSRP was approx $13500)
2014 CB1100 in Jan 2017 for $6995 (MSRP was ?? $10K)

Of course, there's always the ones you 'just had to have' right then and there, that sort of offset the bargains.

Wow. And your W650 would probably sell for your same selling price today.
