RE: Milestone Thread - Rboe - 10-16-2016 12:32 PM When I was an admin on another forum we had some performance issues (it was popular) so it was decided to purge the older threads. I was rather enthusiastic. I got a reputation and had to stop - and it wasn't helping anyway. What we did do was create a hidden area called "the workroom" where we could move threads that seemed to have gone off the rails. We could then decide to "sorry, we over reacted" and move back, purge posts that caused all the grief and move back or simply deep six it, never to see the light of day again. Having this special spot acted as a built in "undo" button and has saved some bums over the years. Highly recommended. Milestone Thread - EmptySea - 10-16-2016 09:25 PM Turned over this yesterday in Cedar Lake, IN almost exactly 24hours after riding "Ferret's Road" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Milestone Thread - curlyjoe - 10-17-2016 02:10 AM Congrats Ferret and MTC on the 26K milestones! RE: Milestone Thread - Cormanus - 10-18-2016 12:55 PM ^^^ +1 Rboe, that's not a bad idea, although it wouldn't have saved this thread. It went west thanks to ineptitude pure and simple. RE: Milestone Thread - Sam Mac - 10-18-2016 02:08 PM It happens, I'm a Mod on a Cub Cadet forum and did the same thing. Had to hang my head in shame and admit that I screwed up. RE: Milestone Thread - husky385 - 11-06-2016 07:44 AM I have owned this bike 1 year today and have 14,500 miles to show for it. Look to the future. Rituals, relics, and traditions are fine in their place. New milestones will come along. RE: Milestone Thread - Rolls - 12-08-2016 04:25 PM I rarely have the opportunity (or presence of mind) to catch a photo of milestone, but I did this time. RE: Milestone Thread - The ferret - 12-08-2016 05:09 PM Good job Rolls. |
