Good work, Ferret. A 100,000 mile ST is closer.

Congrats on the milestones Django and Ferret! Thumbs Up

Cormanus, that shot looks like it may have some artistic merit. Big Grin

Turned 28,000 as I pulled into my garage after a fuel run. (Yes, I am aware that my clock is off by 12 hours)

İmage

Hit 10,000 tonight, pulled over to mark the occasion. This is KM and the first 5600 were done for me, but I've only had the bike since Mid-march and I'm in Canada.

Wow! 100,000 miles. Last week I sold my 2002 CB750 Nighthawk to 22 year old on his first street bike. It had about 54,000 miles on it so nearing in on 90,000 km. So he asks me if that's a lot and how far they're good for. I said I had heard of bikes making 100,000 miles but never seen one.

I plan to keep this bike. What does it take to get to 100,000 miles or 160,000 kms? Would regular maintenance and valve adjustments do it? How far should a well made bike like our CB, ridden well and cared for go before rings and piston work are needed?

I would like to live and ride long enough to hit that marker.

Qimmie this is a very under stressed motor. Regular maintenance oil, filters, air filters, plugs, occasional valve inspection should get you to 100,000 without any major issues. Now if you beat it like a bad dog and ignore maintenance who knows, but respect the bike and it will treat you fairly.
