Good to hear from you Ptero!

I’m with Django ( and I looked at the pics again before reading the replies) ignition on but no lights?

If you come to a fork in the road, take it!

Django, Popgun,

I knew you two would be all over it. Next time I try something like that I will have to be much more cunning. I’m tempted to tell you that there was no oil light because Dactyl Omnigrade️ (CB blend) doesn’t even require RPM to give oil pressure

Don't ride safe. It's boring.

LOL! I forgot all about the Dactyl oil Smile

When I first saw the picture I wondered about that. Tried blowing it up and looking closer thinking maybe the lighting/glare was masking the lights.

What an awesome trip, great write up Ptero, hope to see you again next year.
Lusting after stunning Italian models is a routine hazard ... go for it but try to keep the CB tucked away in the garage too.

Ptero, I just finished reading your entire post and must share with you the utter disappointment that I'm feeling at this particular moment in time. In fact I'm a bit shattered if I'm going to be totally up front with you.

How on earth could you of all people, if even for a moment, even consider writing such a thing in a thread on this forum after the amount of time you've invested here. Surely you know that of which I'm referring to. No post that mentions an eatery named the Robertson Pie Shop should ever be published without including a photo of said establishment for my viewing pleasure. I looked the thread over multiple times, down and up and back. No matter, it seems that such a photo is not to be found. The photo of the Fish Creek Hotel almost made up for it, but not quite.

Now in all honesty, I can't even tell you why I get such a kick out of a place named Robertson Pie Shop. But I do. I suppose I find some comfort in this, for reasons not totally known to me. In fact, at this point if I were to ever make a trip to Australia I would not consider the trip to be complete without visiting the Robertson Pie Shop.

Of course, other than this unimaginable oversight, it was really nice to see a post from you and a great post it was. Fantastic photos as well. It was really nice of you to take us all along on the ride with yourself and Cormanus. Speaking of the photos, we have a rhododendron bush in front of our house. The one in your photo looks a lot like ours — the house that is. Man, that rhodie in your photo is huge. Thanks for sharing!

As far as the Italian temptation is concerned, I'm guessing only you can determine what the right answer is. Out of curiosity, just how hard would it be to come by another CB1100 were you to part with Last Blast and then later on decide that would like another CB? Whatever you end up choosing to do, hopefully you'll still be sharing your words and photos with us further on down the road (both literally and figuratively speaking of course).

I have to say that the Fish Creek Hotel is a very nice example of Art Deco style. Great picture!

George is 83 and last I heard still riding hard. Seems to put about 10K on his bike per year so he trades them in. Seems unsure on what to ride; a V7 or a Griso. I think he has settled on the Griso. This spring, if he shows up at our Not a Rally I'll see what he has.

Long winded way of saying you should have 10-20 good years left to ride........ Smile

Quite a pleasant read, Merry Christmas to you also.
That Rhododendron looks to be a good 12 meters tall!
