Table lift vs regular lift
Looking to get a motorcycle lift for maintenance. Do you have a recommendation for a table lift or regular lift? And what brand? Thanks!

For what work?

There isn't much that can't be done easily on the center stand. Even pulling the front end is simply jacking under the engine with a block of wood that will allow removal of the front wheel, forks, triple tree...

104whp / 75wtq ... for now.

Yes you must be a young man...I have several bikes with the CB1100 being one of them. I also have a project bike-78 wing. But I like to do as much routine maintenance as time allows on all my bikes. The ground gets hard after awhile.

I’ll take a look at the chock. I know they go on sale from time to time but wasn’t sure about the reliability.

The table lifts are really nice to have. Keep an eye on craigslist — I managed to find a really nice Handy lift for $300.

Looks nice. It appears the table lift is more desireable. I will keep check on craigslist for a couple of months. I may settle on the HF one if that doesn’t work out. I’m ready to get something soon.

Nice bike...I also have the 2013.

I have a Handy , they do cost more , but you can get parts and are made in the Midwest. I bought their wheel clamp for my trailer so I could use it as a wheel chuck.
Only thing I could find that would work for a bike and scooter.

RE: Table lift vs regular lift
A center stand works fine if you're still flexible and don't mind lying on a cold garage floor. I bought a Harbor Freight lift about 5 years ago along with a Harbor Freight wheel dock that I bolted to the lift. I just roll the bike onto the lift and into the wheel dock. Bike is now upright with the center stand up, out of the way. I can now do all types of maintenance and add-ons whilst seated or standing. I paid less than $400 for this setup and it has been reliable thus far. Heaviest bike I've had on it is a friend's V4 Yamaha cruiser that weighs in excess of 800lbs.

To those with the Handy lifts. Is your's the compressed air or electric type lift? Any thoughts re. the differences? Plus or minuses? Thanks.
