Did you check the throttle free-play on your bike? It should be between 2-6 mm. The procedure is in the maintenance section of the service manual (throttle operation). If there's no or too little free-play, it's possible that could cause the high-idle issue.
I can't seem to get to the spreadsheet... every time I click the link refers me back to this post...if you can send me a direct link to it via email that would be great.
Also I did check my Throttle free play...it was my first diagnosis when the problem started. It is within specs...
Thanks for the help!

jdvalero...are you installing these yourself or is Honda doing this? If yourself, what are the chances you could take photos along the way and post a visual "how to"? It would be of high interest for a good number of people...assuming it works. Fingers crossed.

Sorry I just saw this post. The EOT sensor is pretty easy to change. I modified (cut off) a 17mm socket to fit exactly the sensor since there is very little space to play with. The service manual calls for 14ftlb of torque but I didn't have a torque wrench that went that low. Hand tight is enough for me, the crush washer is just to stop oil from leaking out. Reused the old one and no leaks.

The EOT sensor did not change anything...after the swap revs are still high at 1500-1600rpm.

When I takled the IACV I will try my best to do so.İmage

Oh to add to all this mumbled jumble I have the 7 long 8 short on the MIL codes. The service manual only calls for 7-1 and 7-2

Your codes have me stumped. Have you asked the dealer about them? Or called Honda of America?

If we were closer I’d jack in my HealTech and see what the ECU says.

As an aside, how far is Raleigh from Smithfield on I95?

If you come to a fork in the road, take it!

Smithfield NC? About 45min drive. Are you coming over?

And on the HealTech I just got mine today on the mail so I will be going to pick it up right now.

Different sizes/styles tails?
Installation CD?

Mine came with tool only....İmage

The software you download from their site. On mine, there is a sticker that says “Software download site” inside the cover of the case with the link:
http://www.healtech-electronics.com/OBD

No other adapters come with the Honda tool as none are needed for Hondas

And a little FAQ sheet and that cardboard insert. Thats it. No CD

You have to download and install the software first. Then you can connect the tool and see if the PC can talk to it. Then hook it up to the bike.

I can’t remember, but there may be a tutorial in the software.

There are sample runs of a couple different motorcycles you can watch too.

JD, I live in Virginia Beach, but sometimes stop at Smithfield when I make a Savannah trip. I like to hit that giant outlet complex. In the Summer I like to ride the ST down, but that didn’t happen this year.

Anyway, I was thinking if Raleigh wasn’t too far, Maybe I’d stop in. Christmas week will be my next run, though. And besides, you have a tool now.

Just so you know, I haven’t used mine yet. Should though, need to make a baseline run.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it!
