RE: Hello-new 2017 CB1100 on order
I spoke to the dealer today. He advised he should hear something Wed (3-30) concerning a ship date on my CB 1100. My guess I might have it in a couple of weeks.

I have never looked more forward to a bike's arrival. I long to ride a Honda CB again. I don't even call the recent crop of Hondas with the transformer look CBs. I enjoy rides of 50-100 miles, rides I don't really need a sport touring bike to do. In steps in the CB 1100 EX. Simple, easy to ride and park, no heat in a Alabama summer, and looks cool. Yes, this bike will fill that need nicely.

We can't wait either. I think you would be the first US based 17 on the board.

BTW wait until you see how easy it is to change the oil and filter compared to the ST. I just did both of mine yesterday. The ST is a pain, the CB a snap.

I think the confusion concerning 2017s possibly being on the showroom floor is the fact that when you click a dealer's "showroom" icon, you get every current Honda motorcycle, and when you click the CB's picture all you get is the standard company line description and photos that state "European Model Shown". It's my belief that the "showroom" choice is nothing more than a virtual showroom, and not the actual bikes on the dealer's floor.

That was my experience when shopping.

In a recent conversation with the dealer (Lakehill Honda, Cornith, Ms) I was advised early June. I was also informed the deposit has been processed, after a 6 week holding status, till actual order could be placed. I placed the order for the bike before the dealer itself could order (so they say)

Anyway that's the latest.

RE: Hello-new 2017 CB1100 on order
My dealer, Powersports Canada, keep promising late April. But from what I have seen on the Internet, I think it will be later.

Perhaps they think I am impatient to purchase a larger motorcycle and hope to keep me from buying something else. No chance of that. I wanted a CB1100 Deluxe from the first time I saw the pictures in 2014. Unfortunately they were not sold here in Canada, and importing one was too expensive with the currency exchange.

Although the 2017 EX does not appear to be as pretty as the 2014 Deluxe, it will do just fine. As the Stones used to sing, "You don't always get what you want, but if you try real hard you get what you need."

Nortoon, you scared me for a minute there. As long as Keith and Mick are still breathing I think they'll continue to sing that tune.

I was also told early June here in Thailand (for Black RS)

RE: Hello-new 2017 CB1100 on order
Keep in mind that the Honda motorcycle plant in Kumamoto was severely damaged by 2 earthquakes in southern Japan last April. Full production was resumed last August, but it still could have had an impact on availability of some models to date. Last week I dropped by my local dealer and one of the sales guys said they hadn't received any 2017 Honda models and they only had one Africa twin delivered since its release early last year. He thought availability of several models was affected by the earthquakes.

That being said, I don't know which factory produces the CB1100.
