RE: Test Ride: 2017 BMW RNineT
Despite what I wrote in my previous post, I couldn’t stop thinking about RNineTs and found a good deal, and bought one. It is growing on me, FAST.
In many ways, this bike is about the entire, soulful package. My short test ride earlier didn’t give the bike a real chance to endear itself to me. I still will say, objectively, the shift action isn’t as good as other bikes, and the brakes aren’t either, but they’re good enough and the engine is the star of the show. It has a lot more torque at all rpm than the CB and above 6k it really starts to pull hard. The vibes smooth out once you start moving....
I really, really like this bike. Plus there’s no chain to have to lube. Will see how much seat time this gets vs the CB over the next few months.

RE: Test Ride: 2017 BMW RNineT
i test rode a r9t before turning on to the cb11, and i can say with no shame that i found it to be better in basically every measurable way than my cb11. why did i buy the cb11 you ask? it was less than half the price. the r9t is an amazing machine, but stacked up against the price of a brand new 2014 std. cb right now...no contest. if i were comparing them msrp to msrp, i would be on the r9t forum right now, but that was not the case at the time. still, very cool bike, and it made me want to try to get hold of an old R100 one day.

Personally I think Tink's bike looks 100% better than the R9T, but the R9T is undoubtedly a better bike.
