RE: Replacement Battery
As I mentioned, I am an OEM plus a distributor for Lifeline AGM batteries - no sales pitch or rules violation attempted here. MY wholesale price sheet has not changed since 2012. Lead has been fairly stable since the wild swings in the commodity market place (on everything) during 2008-2012. I used to recycle batteries for customers on trade in because there was a decent value for recycle, but now I just let them know where to recycle batteries themselves.
Again, I can not help anyone in the MC arena, but if you need/desire AGM batteries in quantity for Boats, RVs, ... PM me. I can probably save you some $. On qty 1 or 2 such as car batteries, when adding drop ship S&H it is usually prohibitive to pass on any savings. BUT BEWARE, many battery warehouses sell old never installed batteries that are frankly useless or dead, especially non-standard sizes - Always Check the date code and return/ refuse shipment if more than 3 months old!!!

RE: Replacement Battery
I forgot to mention, as a Battery Distributor, the price is directly proportional to the batter's weight - that is the amount of commodity Lead in the battery and Likewise the output power (CCA, Amp-Hours) is also. With your typical car battery currently costing around apx $125-175, (AGM version apx $225-250) having 80-100Ah, and weighing 55-70 pounds, there is no reason a MC battery javing 10-12Ah, weighting 9#s, should be more than 1/8 to 1/4 the price. So a price point of $35-60 is very realistic and anything higher is just a rip off to the consumer.

RE: Replacement Battery
My orginal battery lasted 1 1/2 years. I live in the Deep South. I bought one of the Mighty Max batteries off eBay. It lasted about 3 months. I ride daily. I bought a Lithium battery for $85 shipped. My bike has never cranked as fast as it does now.

I was going to take it out for the first time in a real Longggggg time - as suspected the battery needs a change and may need to be replaced. I'll put the charger on for a few hours and try. Even if it starts, I'll replace the battery - time for it anyway.
In the picture the battery for $138.99 is a direct replacement for what is there now. Model YTZ14S 12V 230cca 11.8 AH. Prices vary on amazon from a low of $38.78. Is there any difference from what you have seen over time as to whether it matters which I replace it with. I seem to recall last time I spend around $40-50 for the battery, not $140. The reviews for this battery vs the $5 cheaper model are all Good.
I don't know what is up at Amazon, the chargers run $10-50 for the one I paid $10.
my battery just died this morning.
i was looking at this battery before reading this thread.
my only issue was that its only 200 CCA vs the stock 230.
is this going to be an issue?
i do like the 18-Month Warranty.
