RE: A little update (hip related)
I walk the local nature trail everyday in the winter for 45 minutes, weather permitting.

When I am being good, I substitute pineapple, oranges, apples, or bananas for chocolate, cookies, or ice cream. Not happing now because Penny thinks I get cranky if I haven't had my chocolate fix. So everyone gave me chocolate for Christmas. My grandmother who lived to 99 was a chocoholic, my 97 year mother is a chocoholic, and so am I. So maybe chocolate isn't the killer they think it is.

The boss loads our plates with vegetables, or a side of salad. I am being to hate broccoli and asparagus even with melted cheese.

I do not drink hard liquor, rarely have a beer, but the wine bottle at the supper table always ends up empty.

Smoke for two weeks as a teenager and quit.

I sleep soundly. Would sleep better if I didn't have a bladder.

It took a year to rid myself of rush hour bad driving habits after retiring. Now I avoid rush hours and weekend shopping. Ride my motorcycle on country back roads in the middle of the week.

Do not wear a watch or watch the TV news. If WWIII happens I will see the flash. So stress is not a problem.

I would like to weigh 10 pounds less, but my body is determined to remain at 226. Something I weighed in my 40s when I worked, played baseball in the summer, hockey and broomball in the winter. So now that I spend the winter at my computer on motorcycle forums, I really should not be surprized.

Eat your food as your medicines, otherwise you have to eat medicines as your food.

Recent article in Scientific American (naturally my wife knew this already) said that active people and couch potatoes burn about the same amount of calories per day - you can't really exercize your way to loosing weight. You have to eat less (and eat right). Exercise does have other health benefits though (and lots of walks keeps your shoe salesperson out of hock).

Chocolate, especially dark chocolate (less additives like sugar) is good for you. Keep it up. Big Grin

All these health issues; what we need is a good oil thread to keep our minds off of our issues. Smile

If WWIII happens I won't see anything.

I'll just be reading about what happened on the news, because it'll be over in about 8 seconds.

Then I'll finish my coffee and check this website.

Just replying to Nortoon. He said he would see the flash. He was trying to be funny. So was I.
