Chrome only, as far as I know. Extremely solid, well built and (to me) quite nice looking; does not detract from the appearance of the bike. Here are two pictures:

The dealer in Milton said 13 - 2016s came in - dealer in BC says 16 - and the checker board is actually a Japanese only 200 special edition. Story i was told was that they really didn't want to sell it in canada in 2016 but it was on the site and they took deposits - So Japan sent over what they had - apparently 13 or 16 special editions (youtube look up 2016 cb1100 special edition) i know my bike was order in march last year and deposit paid by another fellow - it arrived in september and he didn't want it anymore - i snapped it up in December

I wonder if there is any truth to that? That would explain the late build date an QimmiQ's bike, I wonder if the rest of the 2016 Canadian bikes have late build dates as well.

If had known (or even suspected) this, I would have bought the bike that QimmiQ ended up with. Don't get me wrong, I love my Spencer Blue 2014 and I already have a blacked out bike but I wouldn't have been able to resist that kind of exclusivity.

RE: The last one...
The dealer's $500 difference between the new '16 and new '17 makes complete sense to me, assuming he's able to get full MSRP for the '17. It's an easy upsell for someone who wants a CB. The dealer will use the '16 as bait to sell as many '17's as he can. With the '17's now on the floor, he'd likely need to drop the price of the '16 to move it, so why not use it to push people into the higher margin '17 while he can? At the end of the season, if he still has it, the price will come down accordingly. If his customer balks at paying $500 more for the '17, then he has a chance of selling the '16 for a price that's probably higher than he could get if there were no '17's.

Lol yep, ... Well he's not in sales, at least in the conventional sense. He's just a very intelligent guy that's always thinking.

Other than somewhat low-capacity fuel tank, this is an almost perfect sport-touring bike. However, remaining-fuel kilometer countdown feature is extremely useful.

Great photo, Gramps. The CB against the backdrop of all that enormity.

Thanks. Here's another one from the tour, posted here in order to:
a) Show the far point of my 2017 Cascadia Loop.
b) Suggest to those with engineering inclinations to take the plant tour.
c) Show the rear carrier height-extending platform, so that a duffel-bag can be strapped behind the rider.
