With my engin mods making just shy of 100bhp it could pull more but I like to be able to use all the engine has. I can rev it out in 4th and still keep my licence... just!
I find 5k rpm + a great and harmonious place to be and usually keep the engine moving.
If I went back a tooth or so then I'd probably be able to get a few more tenths of a second on my 1/4 mile times, but it feels great and that's what it's all about for me.
6th still feels like an overdrive to me but now pulls more keenly when I do need to zip past something.

I like your idea, just to reconfirm:
Do you have the part number for the front pinion & rear sprocket is 206909.
Do you need to replace the original chain?
Will that fit a 2017?
Thanks

Sorry, don't have the front gear part number.

The 42 tooth rear sproket works with the stock chain.

According to JT's chart the 2017 uses the same sproket.

They look like metal clips of some type. They are intregal parts of the nuts.

RE: Larger rear sprocket
Does this affect the speedometer at all or is it still accurate?

Should be just fine right? The speed sensor reads the pulser ring on the rear wheel.

RE: Larger rear sprocket
Thanks guys. I’m going to order one too. Need a new rear tire soon and this will be a good time to replace the sprocket.

RE: Larger rear sprocket
You’re going to need an impact tool to get the sprocket nuts off. If you don’t have one, loosen them while the wheel is on the ground and have someone hold the brake. They are on tight!

Alain, here is the front sprocket from Sunstar.

http://sprocketcenter.com/street-sprocke...ocket.html

I was out on the freeway yesterday and found that I am now, with 42 tooth rear sprocket, turning 3500 rpm at 70 mph in 6th. 65, my crusing speed, was at 3200 rpm. Works for me!

Using the chart provided by PD, it is pretty close at 3401 for a 70 mph speed. With the 42 tooth.

Hi Alain,
I'm sorry I don't have any part no's but can tell you that it fits without having to alter the drive chain.
I think someone else answered the 2017 question...
