Great ride with a good group of fellas! Very nice to meet you guys and we'll have to do it again!!
Started off as a pea-soup kind of day. Had a quick breakfast with some bike (and lawnmower) chat.
We cut the Myles Standish Monument off of the tour because of the fog. The views wouldn't have been great. We knocked out a few miles and then hit the Forefathers' Monument which is a not-well known historical site in Plymouth.
From there we cruised down Water Street in downtown Plymouth and then headed west into Myles Standish State Forest. After riding a few roads in the forest we were confronted by a closed road and a bicycle race. We also encountered a guy on a sportbike with the loosest chain I have ever seen that had become derailed. I didn't have the right tools to help him but it was so loose he put it on by hand. Not sure I would have been too keen to ride his bike!
From Myles Standish we went south on Long Pond Road and then Bourne Road down to the Bourne area and stopped at the Railroad Bridge. I think these pics are probably eligible for the monthly picture as they are train related, no?
I ended up with about 70 miles on the clock at the end of the ride. I'm sure the guys who traveled to get here had a lot more!
When I got home USPS was waiting for me and this happened:
I couldn't resist a trial so I went back out for another 30 miles. What a difference from the stock saddle! It definitely puts you back a bit and it feels higher because the seat is a bit wider. I'm still flat-footed at a stop but with straighter legs now. Overall comfort is greatly improved.
Thanks again for a great ride!!
