Oi Oi everybody! I created an account some time ago when I acquired my 2013 CB. I was never very active, but this forum has always been a great source of information and I've learned a lot from all the knowledgeable folks in here. After 21k miles on my 2013 model, I had an accident (car pulled out of driveway blindly) in which the bike was called a total loss by the insurance. After test riding different bikes, I found a low mileage 2014 cb1100 for half the price of what I was gonna pay for a brand new Bonneville t120. And that's how 10 days after my accident I was back on the saddle and enjoying a six speed cb1100 now. We have a small CB1100 riding group here in Southern California and I believe some are members here. Cheers guys

Glad that it was just the bike and you were able to find another though that '13 looked very sharp.

Welcome back! Glad you are ok and back in the saddle again on another CB.

After 21K miles with a 5 speed, do you like the extra gear on the '14?

Absolutely! I never felt my 2013 cb1100 lacked power at all, I did some long distance rides 2up + luggage and the bike performed beautifully. What makes the difference is the way the power is delivered. I don't know if honda modified the gearbox ratios, or just the fact that it cruises at lower rpms is what makes me feel that way. When I found the 2014 cb1100 was going to be 6 speed, I thought the 6th was going to be an overdrive gear mostly for cruising at high speeds, but even in 6th gear you still have plenty of acceleration. I am very happy with my black 2014.
