RE: CB1100 for the win!
I wanted the 2017 CB1100 first. I test rode the other two bikes and liked them both, but as soon as finally tracked the CB down and saw one in the flesh it was game over :-)
I don't think you'd be unhappy with any of these, though in my opinion the R-Nine-T needs a rev counter and to be at least $1000 cheaper, and it still doesn't come with spoked wheels as standard.

The BMW is has a very expensive first service charge, unlike the CB which is the opposite and can be done by the owner without effecting the warranty.

I'd still love one of each lol

I was glad to finally hear some praise for the EX fuel tank's seamless design and recognition of its stylistic homage to classic British iron. It has really puzzled me that the tank has been widely maligned or at best under-appreciated on this forum.

Woohoo! Finally some kudos. I can't get enough of my 2017 but I may need to do something about the seat. I know seats are a very personal and specific so that's okay if I need to get a different one. Otherwise it's the best bike I've ridden thus far.

Those charts are consistent with the Honda "Creating Finespun Output Characteristics" piece where the engineers talk about tuning the motor in increments ("every 1 degree and 100 revs").

Imagine if they didn't intentionally "rough" up the engine for nostalgia!

I just think - in general for all manufacturers - factory foam is too soft. Would be great to keep the OEM seat's styling but firm up the foam so it doesn't crush down.

having never actually set on a stock cb1100 i can tell you the K10 seat is very firm , hard would be a better word and hurt me a lot until it finally broke in .
the CB1100 took longer than any other bike for me to appreciate but we fit now and it is a keeper . the brakes are the best i have ever experienced and so far haven't used the ABS as far as i know

The best part about growing up in Florida is i didn't have to move here when i got old.
