Hello from San Diego

Hi everyone—

Thanks for putting together such an excellent community. Nothing decided me on buying my ’14 standard as much as hopping on it at the dealer, but this forum was a close second. I split my working time between a university and corporate stuff, and almost nothing said in either world makes as much sense as the comments on this forum (and indeed, in motorcycle shops more generally).

I’ve returned to riding after a very long absence. In the stupid category, sold my bike in 1990 because I had to. In the less-stupid category, it was a 1985 CB650SC, a lovely, indestructible bike. Rode it between Oakland and LA, and all points in between. Miss it still. The CB1100 is such a good bike it almost makes up for that long stupid spell.

I’ve had the bike for four months so I'm a bit late saying hello, but I’ve been riding a lot to make up for lost time. Hope to see some of you around San Diego.
