Too short an interval to edit a post
I often review a post I've initiated, and think that I should have stated something differently/better. But the short time allowed to edit a post prevents that. Can something be done to let a forum member update or change a post a day (or several days) after the initial post.

It wouldn't have to allow the OP to modify or delete their original post, but it would permit them to add an EDIT at the bottom of it ...... ie, to restate their original position. Other sites permit this.

We used to have that feature, then one forum member threw a hissy fit and spent about 3 days and nights going in and deleting all his posts, ruining the continuity of every thread he posted in. We then changed it to one hour for personal edits. So better think before you type and you have one hour to correct spelling or grammar errors, rearrange your thoughts or edit your post in any way. After that it takes a moderator, or the administrator to edit your post

Type it in a text editor and copy and paste into the forum.

You make a good case for keeping it like it is.
