The roll is a yoga mat. I was not geared for camping. I used cheap motels where I could find them and the good graces of some cousins in Quebec. Have a buddy in Halifax where I was able to take a five day break and get the bike serviced at their Honda Dealer. Motels add up on a long trip and was the major factor in eating up the ride budget. I am researching camping gear for next spring. If I do take that trip out west next year that I am dreaming of I will need some cheaper options than motels.

wow, you're a real biker and good writer.
i'm just a wanna be compare to you.
keep the dream alive and thanks for sharing.
I get sideways glances from real bikers at times. Not sure what a real biker actually is but if it has something to do with passion for riding then maybe. BTW, Quebec is great for riding. There are tons of bikes out in the summer in Quebec. Riders of all ages, lots of gals on bikes. Lac St. Jean is a great place to ride. Last week of July and first week of August Provincial custruction workers all take Vacation at the same time - that is awesome. From what I saw a good many them ride bikes. Thinking of going back there next summer.
