Nothing exciting to report at this time.
Rode 130+ miles today.
Cool in the valley and chilly in the mountains.
Kyle Canyon to about 7,000' was fine.
Deer Creek Road to Robber's Roost was fine, with minor ice in the shadows of the opposite lane (close to 8,000 feet elevation).
North of Robber's Roost, there was ice across the entire road, complicated by shadows, so I doubled back to highway 95.
55 MPG for that section.
Went north/west on highway 95 to Cold Creek Road.
No wild horses seen on the way up...2 seen on the return.
Walked around Corn Creek Springs.
Standing in the sun felt good!
Overall 50 MPG. If I fill with bike on center stand, I can squeeze ~0.2 gallon more in the tank.
Returned home with 827 miles on the clock in 3 weeks.
Yesterday, I picked up two oil filters and 4 quarts of GN4 10W-30 from the local Honda dealer.
Expect the next oil change to be late February/early March.
Around June, intend to switch to HP4S before the hot weather.
It is $10.99/quart. It was a toss up between that and Castrol Power 1, but I liked the Honda statement about compatibility (no flushing required) with GN4, since an oil change leaves 0.8 quart in the motor (4.1 quarts for oil change with filter and 4.9 after motor disassembly/reassembly).
