First Road Bike
Decided on a road bike after a 25+ year layoff from motocross and after an amazing amount of agonizing am pretty sure it's gonna be a CB1100 EX.
Got the bug while in Italy seeing everyone on motorcycles and my orthopaedic trauma nurse wife (who I met indirectly from motocross) is shockingly onboard.
With that, any recommended essential mods? Halfway done buying my safety gear and will get it towards the middle/end of winter.
Thanks.

Welcome Cory!

What kind of mods? If you want power mods, well, there aren’t really many and you don’t gain much.

Some change the sprockets and exhaust, suspension, seat, etc.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it!

Thanks. Nothing performance oriented, but just safety and stuff like that. Maybe some sort of engine guard?
Much appreciated.

G'day Cory and welcome to the forum. Some use the OEM engine guards and the SW Motech ones are also pretty popular. Have a hunt around the forum and you'll find lots of examples.

In addition to the engine guards I find a luggage rack a handy add-on. I also added a Road Comet shield, more for the looks than the protection.
Welcome to the neighborhood, I hope you find the CB1100 to be as satisfying as the rest of us do.

I tell " new" riders to spend the first $ 1000 on themselves buying good protective gear AND than spend money on their bike.
Engine guards are a must in my opinion.
