RE: CB 1100 RS
Yes, a parking light, but more of avoiding running dark if the headlight fails.
However, front running lights are likely better.
A headlight relay saves the battery when the key is on and motor not running, such as when resetting trip computer.

2012 Bonnie, at 865 cc, was about 56 MPG on the highway.
Only 2-4 MPG over the CB1100.

My overall average is 49 MPG+

Tomorrows run to Gunlock, UT, should be around 52 MPG.

However, I am running with a Vrod and the rider does not care about MPG!

Ride your own ride doc. If mister vrod wants to run significantly faster than you do, pick places to meet up.

I do and most of my rides are solo.

We and a friend with a H-D Classic went to Duck Creek this past spring, when I had the Moto Guzzi and we were close to the 80 MPH speed limit on I 15 around Cedar City, UT. In the twisties, east of highway 89, it was leisurely.

RE: CB 1100 RS
Thanks for the helpfull comments Macduff! The 17" wheels will sure help dive into corners and turning a much easier job. I believe the Shova Dual Bending shocks will do a significant difference as well... In general I prefer everything on the RS, a more agressive look which is given by the wheels sizes, colours and shocks design. One thing that really bugs me (and that I can't understand) is why have the promotional photos metal brushed engine parts and then they sell it with the same parts painted in a plain dull grey?... Also prefer spokes wheels, but I believe the mag wheels on the RS will offer better quality, performance and a much wider range when choosing sport tyres. Anyway, are you happy with the bike? No regrets, so far? And the riding experience? Unfortunately Honda dealers around these places don't have a test ride model... I've been test riding a lot of models lately (R Nine T, Bonneville T120, Bonneville Bobber), but the one I'm really interested in, I can't try it... Bummer! I'm in a kind of dilema... I never bought a bike that I didn't try...
Thanks!

RE: CB 1100 RS
Don't get me wrong, SportsterDoc, I love my Bonnie. Thing is I need more torque and "more bike". And the T100 brakes suck! Even the T120 and the new Bonneville Bobber brake bad. That's why they are putting some double discs on the front of the 2018 model. Unfortunately I can't keep both bikes... And changing bikes is always a hard thing to me. When I replaced my 96 Fatboy for my Bonneville I kinda regret for a couple of weeks. Well, that changed after mounting a couple of Norman Hyde barrels on it. So, I hope that if I end up changing one bike for another, and if I regret the day after, it won't last more than a couple of weeks again... Smile Take care and thank you!

The RS feels heavier to steer than my 18" wheeled bike and feels like it wants to track road irregularities more willingly so takes more effort for reward. This seems to be backed up in journo comparisons between the two models. That said I would never have bought an EX if it was the only model available.
EX has a 140 rear tire and the RS has a 180 rear tire. Most stock tires have a relatively flat profile as well, hence, slow turn in. Once I changed my tires on any of my bikes to something with a rounder profile, my turn in was MUCH better, night and day. Stock Dunlops or Bridgestones to Michelin Pilots was amazing. Not being a track rider I also did not need to 180 rear.

Understood and no issue.
My intention was only to provide a comparison, based upon my experience.
I am extremely happy with my 2014 CB1100 standard.
