2018 Spring in Chicago Day Ride
Attention riders in or near Chicago!
Let's get together for a ride and a meal! Chicago is at its very best in springtime and we should take advantage of that.
When? May or June 2018
Where? North to Wisconsin? South down Old Route 66? A trip up or down Lake Shore Drive? Let's see who replies and where they are from and we can figure that out.
Who? Anyone with a CB1100 and any guests that they want to bring along.
If you're interested, please comment below. I'm open to changing dates or destinations based on suggestions from interested parties, so chime in.
Thanks,
MTC

Thanks for the reply, greekcb!
We did a Lake Shore Drive trip a few years ago and the traffic wasn't bad. It did require a fairly early start, though. Loads of fun and the lakefront looks awesome when perched on a motorcycle. Here's the write up on the LSD trip http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread....other+road
Old Route 66 is great, too. Lots of fun places to stop, but there's like 4 curves. LOL My brother-in-law and I did the 66 tour with a CB1100 rider who was visiting from France. The weather kind of sucked, but we all enjoyed the nostalgia. Here's the write up on our Route 66 ride: http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread....other+road
(blame PhotoBucket for any missing pictures).
Also, I ride into Wisconsin all the time... so much so that there's not a single ride report I can point you to. My idea there is that we'd meet someplace north-ish for breakfast and the ride into the afternoon. Maybe even get a late lunch/early dinner before disbursing.
Food for thought.

That was a great ride, Ferret. We could certainly do part of that ride with the Chicagoland folks. Might even be able to pick up Ole along the way.

Great ride reports! Yeah ive done them all as well, very cool stuff. It should be a good season for my CB. I only had it a couple of months to enjoy this year since i bought it late in the season but this upcoming season will be my first full season with it and im really looking forward to it. I tell ya though looking at the ride reports i really get excited about the 66 one.

I would ride up a day early and meet up with everyone else around Joliet to ride Route 66.

Just an update on the possible dates. In light of the strong possibility of a 2018 CB1100 rally in early or mid June, the Chicagoland Ride will either be in May or late June. We will firm up the date later. At this point, I’m just looking to see who is interested in riding with us.

If I’m around I’d be interested, more so in WI.
