"We've Only Just Begun"
"One Tin Soldier"
"Midnight at the Oasis"
"It's a Small World"
"Yellow Submarine"
and the more-than-appropriate
"Mickey (You're So Fine)"

You're welcome.

Don't forget "Afternoon Delight" and the Flintstones theme song.

Jeez, has it really been so long since I've actually needed to lock down a thread that I can no longer remember it?

All in good fun folks, all in good fun. (Even if none of the other suggested tunes have been able to overtake "Down Under" playing in my head.) On second thought, looking back over the "contributions" by MTC and Ben, I might just have to repeat the word Vegemite to myself until I manage to fall asleep.

Man, do I need to go for a ride or what? Going to have to tap into some CB-therapy soon.

I thought the same today (about myself, not about you Thumbs Up...). I read where we were supposed to receive buckets of rain this evening, and I decided to channel my Inner Mickey and get on out there. Part of my motivation was to test the rain-worthiness of my crazy-expensive Rev'It 'Poseidon' riding suit, their top-of-the-line, Four Seasons, waterproof Gore-Tex product.

Ummm...no. Within forty minutes my lower stomach and crotch was soaked. My fifteen-year-old BMW Gore-Tex gloves fared only slightly better. When I pulled into the same gas station and Mexican restaurant where I took Eric the other day, the people inside the restaurant all stopped and stared, and not in a John Wayne entering the saloon kinda way, either.

Nope, I looked like a drowned rat. A little kid even pointed at me and asked his mother why I was so wet. The mother tried to stifle a giggle, unsuccessfully.

Yeah, not good. My Big Adventure Rain Ride was the proverbial washout, and now I'm about to look up Aerostich online and see about committing yet another act of sheer financial lunacy.

On the plus side, the bike managed just fine. I only almost-crashed twice!

For those that need to know, Vegemite is made in Port Melbourne and the company that owns the factory now is Bega Cheese. The local pie company Patties makes Four and Twenty pies and recently made a Vegemite Cheese and Beef pie to celebrate the return of the Vegemite brand to Australian ownership.

The CB1100 link is that as I rode out of the garage this morning listening to Highway to Hell I glanced in my mirror to see my beloved place an empty jar of Vegemite in the bin as I raised my hand to wave good bye .

Regards and have a good weekend.

Earlier today I penned a lengthy comment about rotor's excellent posts and a question posed by Ulvetanna. At the critical moment of clicking <Post Reply>, the screen gave a shudder and the browser on my computer crashed. Since then ear worms (and you leave Maria alone, MTC) and Vegemite have reduced the thread to a level of frivolity that makes seriousness irrelevant.

I've decided to take the crash as a sign and move on.

VLC. Look at getting a set of sailing wet weathers which will probably cost you less than Aerostich and may well work just as well, although I've a theory that there's almost nothing that can keep water out of clothing when you're riding into it at 50 or 60 mph. Rainproof over-gloves (relatively cheap) are remarkably effective as are rainproof over-boots.

I have had an older (20 years) Aerostich Road Craft jacket what was not really water proof , the one I bought 2 years ago is much better .
You might also look at the Held jacket/pants, I bought the rain cloud pants from them :excellent and easy to put on.
For Held products go to their German website , they have far more choices than available in the USA.
