RE: Real world benefits of the slipper assist clutch
Well spotted Jedd, if that is all that is required then it's a bit of a steal. If and when I have to have the clutch out, I'll be tempted to give it a go.... that maybe some time tho! Anyone had to replace clutch plates yet? If so, what sort of miles?

RE: Real world benefits of the slipper assist clutch
I've since gone back to do a more thorough inspection of the slipper parts requirements.

This is more accurate list of 2017 EX clutch parts required for converting the 2013 & 2014 Cb1100 stock clutch to a slipper clutch. Red mark=2017 EX parts

I took a quick peek at the parts needed to convert our existing clutch to the new 2017 slipper assist.

dang, pdubs....
I'm late to the party, as usual.

But hey, better late than never.
THx for posting up that link, I'll compare my parts list to see if I got it right.

One question though, for anyone who knows....I couldn't find a clutch cover gasket part number.
do you guys think the cb uses a reusable gasket nested on the back side of the clutch cover?

Thx for posting that pic.
It looks super easy to work on that clutch.
Look at all that space !!!
I bet I can get all the new parts put in there in 10 mins.
Hit all the old bolts w/ an impact, replace the parts, torque the new bolts back into place. Done.
Unfortunately, I'll Probably wind up taking 20 mins to jack around w/ the messy instant sealer

RE: Real world benefits of the slipper assist clutch
Well, on my way to costco, I went to check out that '17 EX at my dealer's showroom yesterday.
At first I couldn't find it in its former spot on the showroom. The sales mgr went freakin' hog wild and restocked the showroom like they won the lottery.... wall to wall, full of bikes and ATVs,
couldn't even walk in some places to get close to the bikes.

But I found it parked next to the parts counter.
First thing I noticed is, sticker price now says $10,400!
2nd thing....clutch pull is truly a 1 finger pull - and I can hold it in w/ my index finger for 1 min.- no probs.
I'm AMAZED at how light it is to pull that sweet hydro cluch.
This should make my gridlock crawling situations all the more better.
I'm sold, so I'm going to do it.

I must be old- I think the stock clutch is very light as compared to old school mechanical cable clutches..
