RE: CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge
Got a couple more today after meeting my buddy for lunch (166 miles on the ST). Came home grabbed the CB and headed out to shoot some churches for another 36 miles.

This is St Bernadette Catholic Church in Amelia, Ohio...large congregation! They hold a giant festival every year.

and this is the Grant Memorial Methodist Church. Erected in 1929 on the land where the tannery stood where Grant's father worked. Made of river rock, it is next door to Grant's Birthplace in Pt Pleasant Ohio

from this view the little white house next to the road is Ulysses S Grant's (18th president of the U.S.) birthplace with the Ohio River in the background

Enjoyed the picture of Grant's birthplace. Would love to visit there at some point. Earlier this year did a road trip that included a stop at the Lee Chapel at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA.

Ran across this one whilst cruising the hood. Nice setting!

This is being billed as "The first church in Los Alamos" and... "it grew out of the original Army Chapel after World War 2".

Prior to World War II, there was nothing there other than a small private ranch school for boys and seasonal grazing of live stock. In 1942, the Department of War used eminent domain to acquire the area as part the Manhattan Project. The laboratory at Los Alamos designed and fabricated the first atomic bombs. If you have time (20 min) to spare, the video "The Town that Never Was' provides a historical perspective.

Cool, I have 20 mins now. Just got in from a ride. 34 degrees when I took off, 32 when I got back. Going to be in the teens in the morning and the street dept has been brining the road with beet juice in anticipation of snow.
