RE: New Member from Central Texas
junipash - First, I think we should put the word "club" in quotation marks, but I do think the 2013ABS is the rarest version of the CB1100 available in the US.

I have two CB1100s listed in my signature line because my Honda dealer found a crated 2013ABS at a Honda auction this past June, so I traded in my non-ABS with 30,000+ miles on it for an ABS version with 0 miles on it. (it now has 4,600+ miles on it).

Ferret has said that some of the features that came on the DLX were features he wished were on the 2013 model. When the DLX came out, he was able to get the CB1100 perfectly decked out for him.

There is a least one member who bought two 2013s, one to keep stock and one to modify, but I can't recall who that was.

And then cam Houtman.... LOL

A lot of folks like this bike, I guess

First off, welcome to the forum!

Cormanus may have have some hard numbers on how many of each were imported, but the Registry he put together provides some insight. There are 29 forum members who registered an ABS model versus 211 that registered a non-ABS model.

Note: You can add yours if you like. The CB1100 Registry is on the middle of the main page. Just reply to the 2013 thread with your info.

Ah that's kinda neat... have added my info there! I suppose they are quite rare then! Thanks for that bit of education..

I fear not RockHop; only speculation.

This was my speculative post from December 2015:

(12-22-2015 12:38 AM)Cormanus Wrote:  Apropos numbers manufactured, you could hazard a guess for the US market based on the US data in the Registry.

The highest VIN for a 2013 is 1785—so round it up to 1800; for the 2013 ABS it's 1069—say 1100; for the 2014 STD it's 2460—say 2500; and for the DLX it's 299—say 300.

That would mean 2900 bikes in 2013 and 2800 in 2014 just in the US.

To update that, the 2013 highest numbers remain the same; the highest 2014 STD is 2497 and the highest DLX 306. On that basis I'd change only the DLX numbers and say 350 or 400.

I find it unusual that there is nearly a 500 unit gap between the highest registered 2013ABS (1069) and the next highest (480).

Little bit of drift here ...

The 2013 ABS VIN numbers are fairly consistent up to 201 (mine BTW), then jump to 480 and 1069. Definitely outliers in the data that make no sense, statistically.

If you look at the nonABS list, there are 211 entries compared to the highest VIN of 1785. That is roughly 12%

Assuming that percentage holds for the 29 ABS entries, the Highest VIN would be about 240.

All the above is what I would term "majoring in minors" because it really doesn't matter. lol

Just so I can claim this post has some value - there is a 2013 ABS on craiglist in Austin. $6800 with 4500 miles, dated Feb 6
