RE: Just found out about these bikes
Congrats !!! Everybody here rides differently. The guys up Los Angeles way seem to be more café race types and they have customized as such. Mine is pretty stock except for some minor mods for touring. Biggest change was the seat. I saw Chip Beck's Corbin seat on this forum, so I called up Corbin and said I wanted the same thing .. so that's what they sent me. It seemed hard at first, especially compared to my 750 Nighthawk Corbin seat I had which was awesomely wonderful. After about 500 miles, I realized my new Chip Beck seat was perfect for me and my CB1100DX. It is really great on long rides (ex San Diego to Michigan) ... no need for AirHawks, etc.

RE: Just found out about these bikes
I too went to the dealership to look at a couple other bikes (a Boulevard M50 and an SCR950.) And then I saw my "sweetheart," also a '14 standard with a pretty sweet price. Neat looking bike I thought. And then I sat on it; for almost an hour (until around closing time.) Had them work up some numbers and rode it home the next day.

I have both a custom Sargent seat and a Russal . The Sargent is good and the
Russel is kind a ugly but is comfy.

Pretty much my exact experience, expect with a 2014. Glad to know we're pulling some from the HD crowd. Welcome!

I did actually get a '14 in the end because i liked the aesthetics better (there's just something wrong with the '17 tanks...), but i saw the '17 first.

RE: Just found out about these bikes
Seems this is a diamond in the rough for a lot of people. I'm good friends with the local Honda dealer, and went there first, and he never mentioned this bike nor had one on the floor.
I went back by today with my bike, and he actually apologized that he had not thought to mention it, because it is a great bike. Just not a big seller.
I'm giving the seat time to break in, and took it on the interstate today with no major drawbacks, so I'm going to decide against a windscreen right now. Again, thanks for the warm welcome, and I'm definitely going to make this my primary mode of transport.
