Waiting on the White ones......

If you really love the bike but must have the white color, consider trying to buy a white tank from Japan or Australia. The MSRP on the bike may go up in 2014, negating the price difference from buying a red 2013 + a new gas tank.

And, you'd wouldn't have to wait 'til next spring to have a bike!!

Pure speculation on my part, but I'm betting the 2014 model will be black.

Or, much easier than Japan or Australia, get one from Canada as that's the only color available there this year.

I realize this advice is aout two months late, but.....

Why not get a red U.S. model now and find someone in Canada who wants to trade tanks? I much prefer red, and I'm sure that there must be some Canadians that feel the same way. Your only cost would be shipping.

You could even try contacting Canadian Honda Dealerships. One might want to swap new tanks with you and have the only red one for sale in Canada.

Last time I checked, my local paint/body shop had white paint and the ability to spray it on.

I bought a 2006 ST1300, which comes in black (the ST changes colors every model year). I lived with it for a few years, but never "loved" having a black bike.

I finally decided I wanted white, and over the course of a few months, bought all new bodywork (queue in the Johnny Cash song "One Piece at a Time"). It cost me about the same as having the bike professionally repainted, but I was never without a motorcycle.

Don't let color stop you from acquiring your dream bike.
