Another CB750 Nighthawk
redReno invited me over here from the Nighthawk forum. I imagine that we won't be the last Nighthawk owners here. It seems only natural that anyone who likes the old CB750 would eventually end up on a CB1100.

I bought the Nighthawk brand new in '96. It's a '93 model but was still in the crate when I bought it. The local dealer had stocked up on Nighthawks when Honda announced they were dropping the model in '94. When Honda brought the Nighthawk back in '95 he still had a warehouse full.

The bike now has 39K miles on it and I put every mile on it. The only parts that have touched the ground have been tires, side and centerstand. Mechanically, it's been the perfect bike. So good that I decided to keep it when I bought the CB1100. It would be a shame to let it go.

İmage

Thats a very nice looking NH. I was browsing my local craigs adds for a NH and came across a very very clean 550NH. Its was a 83 I believe and I was not aware there was such a thing. 6 speed and claimed 64 hp I think which was a lot for the size of the engine. Maybe some of you guys that have/had them may remember them.

I agree with oldguy, very nice example of the 750 Nighthawk. Accessorized quite nicely.

I think we've seen 3 of the 4 colors that were available posted now.All we are missing is a yellow one.

That would be a '96 model. In the late model '91-03 series, they all came in red or black with the exception of Tahitian Blue in '93 and Pearl Yellow in '96.

The 550 was only offered for a single year. It was a bit more cruiserish than the other Nighthawks, with a stepped seat and buckhorn bars. It was a nice bike. I don't know about 64hp, though. I've seen dyno charts for stock models and it's more like mid to upper 50s rwhp.

Yeah, I meant 64 at the crank. Mid to high 50's out of a 550 is laying it down imo. Its probably a peaky engine but still very impressive for its size. Ironically, there is a yellow 96 750 near by me for sale that is as clean as a pin. Guy wants 3K for it with 15K on the clock.
