My friend scored big time. I helped him restore a '62 Lincoln, and we were at a swap meet and ran across a pair of California 1962 issue plates (yellow with black digits), still in the envelope from the DMV, never registered. He was able to have them registered to his car. Talk about period-correct!
The copper mining industry is huge in Arizona, so the plates are a cheesy copper color and either green (another copper color) or red, for some reason. The copper color looks like it was sprayed from one of those rattle can metallic paint cans.
The '62 Lincoln - wow, those are the size of Tennessee, but beautiful. My first wife and I were in the Cadillac dealership getting her '57 Cadillac serviced in 1966 and looking at the new Caddys. They were six thousand dollars. New, out the door with fold-down foot rests in the back seat. Two years ago I paid $6500 for a nine-year old CB1100 with 4500 miles on it.
Inflation. Of course we were only making $500 a month, each, and paying $65/month, for a tiny one bedroom apartment with a pool in Miami, FL, back then too.
Ah, the good old days.

Won't make that mistake again.

Ah yes, I guess the color is more of a copper than a gold.
While I helped restore the '62 Lincoln, the car is a bit of a nightmare to work on. Advanced for its day, it used vacuum, fluid pressure and solenoids to perform functions a lot of cars didn't have but are common today - speed sensitive wipers, retractable top, etc, but a few of those features were reaching a bit too close to the sun for 1962 technology. Restorations for me will be limited to vintage motorcycles (if I ever do another one) and lending sagely advice.

Regarding weather, still been a mixed bag here. Bouncing between gorgeous to about-to-rain, to short rain. Made the decision to drive rather than ride to the musem on Saturday, figuring I didn't want a rainy ride home. Turns out I had a rainy drive in, but a gorgeous afternoon. Meanwhile, I got a big influx of people who came to the museum because the Winternationals had rained out.

You know what? I actually would like a pickle.

Local southern Ontario, Canada weather today appears to be chance of showers, but up to about 9C. Definitely ridable conditions are possible for many.

Unrelated, Gone, but today I found an imposter at another Honda forum:

Hmm... someone who no doubt recognized greatness and wishes to become as great himself someday. I can appreciate that.

The weather... the weather...
So, gorgeous couple of days, chilly morning rides in, cool but comfortable on the way home. Supposed to be nice through Friday, then rain heavily Saturday and Sunday.
Sad that it will rain over Easter weekend, but I was going to do some woodwork repairs at Mom's on Saturday, so I guess I'll have to hold off on that - bummer...

Boss gave us Friday off for Good Friday, and I was going to finally replace the chain on the Triumph. But if it's supposed to be a nice sunny day, and I have it to myself, should I spend it in the garage, or riding. That chain has gone this long...

You know what? I actually would like a pickle.

Rainy days are made for replacing chains on Brit bikes.

Well then, I guess that chain will have to wait 'till I have a rainy day and nothing else to do!
