While in Lebanon the golden lamb is far and away the most famous place to break bread. Couple blocks north of that is a place called the breakfast club, I had breakfast there last year and it was excellent! While in tenn. I consider the wheels through time museum mentioned in an earlier post, a must see.

Caution when riding on The Dragon. The Tenn. State Troopers love to randomly swarm in and ticket riders going over the 35mph posted speed limit. If there are riders who want to push their limits on The Dragon, which is why most people go, just make sure to stop at either end of the route and talk with folks to see if they've seen any troopers. I was citied last Sept. with doing 56 in a 35 mpg zone. It'll ruin a great trip.

Will be meeting with our little crew on the 31st to pick dates and make sure everyone is on board with distance/day and such. Still looking for good roads in SW Ohio and between Lebanon and Cumberland Falls State Park.

@pw363: Thanks for the dining tips!
@branew: I'm the fastest rider in our group and I'm old and fat. The Goldwing riders and my wife on her CTX will be at or below posted speeds. Thanks for the tip for sure, though. Smile
@ALL: Once I have the date set, I will post it here. I'd love to meet a few CBers for breakfast in or near Lebanon and, if possible, for you to ride part of our Day 2 route with us. I'll keep you posted Smile

Our proposed route for Day 1. Chicago to Lebanon, OH

Chicago, IL to Lebanon, OH

Includes a lunch stop at Triple XXX Restaurant in West Lafayette. Maybe a little overrated, but still enjoy both the ambiance and the root beer. Smile

Those of you who have ridden in the area should feel free to make suggestions for stopping points along the route or even alternative roads to those that are in the map.

Thanks!

Our "Hills, Stills, and Thrills" ride to the Smokies is set for 4/26/14 through 5/3/14. Our plans (subject to last minute weather changes) put us in Lebanon, OH the evening of 4/26 and leaving Lebanon for London, KY on 4/27. Would love to meet area CB riders on the 27th either for breakfast or to ride with us for a bit or whatever... Let me know if you're interested in meeting and we'll work on the logistics closer to the date. Thanks!

I'm tentatively in for breakfast...got you pencilled onto the calendar. Think you are going a bit early though.

We are definitely pushing the season a bit, but we couldn't get everyone's schedule to work for any other week. We're an optimistic bunch, though, so hopefully our sunny dispositions will carry the day...or the week. Smile

There really much worth noticing along your route, all of you Indiana time will be on flat, mostly straight roads. Even into Ohio through to Middletown it will be that way, just make sure you pay close attention to the signs for 122 in Eaton and Gratis.

Thanks, Randy. That's kind of what I thought, too. That's why, aside from skipping I65, we are working the route to be as direct as possible through Indiana. Our route may change a bit in Ohio because we may stop in Oxford to visit my daughter who goes to Miami University. Nothing like embarassing your kid by showing up at her dorm with 5 friends on motorcycles. Lol.
