RE: Warm feet
I don't think anything beats Houston right now. Too many people, too many moron cagers, way too many distracted drivers and yes, the anticipated 99+ degrees days with 95% + humidity. I wish they'd at least hurry up and pass some law against talking/texting and driving.

Or a Californian, so you can split through the lanes.

Wow, we only get a few days a year that hot. On those days we ride early in the morning and late in the evening and avoid the heat of the day.
Here in North Carolina during August it can be 100* with 90% humidity...kinda makes you want to do a "Ricky Bobby"-tear your clothes off and run around yelling " I'm on fire!"
U ain't felt humidity till U have been to Louisiana pretty much anyday in August. Part of the problem of August/September in Louisiana is U are dam tired of that much humidity from May thru Septemeber and then there R the Love Bugs which we are in the middle of the first season as I write. Thank you Lord i have a log cabin in Arkansas where it may get to 110 in August but it is a dry heat! LOL!

I split those lanes in Cali. for the first time last summer. We did not understand exactly what was legal and we started spliting lanes in any lane we might happen to be in. luckliy we figured out this was insane and not legal at all before we ever go stopped by the Fuzz!

I degress! Houston is as bad as New Orleans for summer bike riding!

Not true. You can split lanes and it's all perfectly legal here. There is no designation on what lanes you can or can't split between and there is no speed to where it's not legal either, but the CHP has "recommended" that you not do it over 40 MPH.

There have been a few times I have stopped at lights & put my legs down a little too foward of the footpegs. I looked down & realized that my legs were leaned against the crank case! Doh!
I've also noticed in slightly cooler weather my legs tend to stay warmer due to the air moving over the engine & then onto them. I hope this doesn't translate into a leg roast when summer in Florida finally hits full force.

I've ridden in 90 plus and it feels pretty warm but nothing out of the ordinary.
