RE: Average CB1100 Rider Age
Hell yeah PowderedToastMan, my thoughts exactly. All the other bikes I was looking at had something that just wasn't right.

Sportsters (although I still want to build one some day) are a bit over done, and a bit to much on the cruiser side for me.
Monsters are expensive and everytime I see someone on it looks like they've been riding for about a week.
Bonnevilles are actually a bit too small framed for me. Don't get me wrong, I like them a lot, but I didn't feel like I'd enjoy riding far on one.
The new styled naked bikes (although powerfull and fun) aren't anywhere near pretty as the CB, and were insaine to insure.

All said and done, I'm extreemely happy with the CB. I've essentially been shopping for a newer bike for the past 3 years, and nothing really grabbed me... Untill rode the CB.

I may grow older, but I refuse to grow up!

42, single, never married, no kids....

Not really sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing. It all depends on who I ask.

Some of us arent' re-experiencing anything. We never stopped. I've been riding these kinds of bikes since 1980. I bought one because they only appear every decade or so Tongue

RE: Average CB1100 Rider Age
I'm 51. When the CB750 was released I was 7. I still remember the first one that I ever saw. It belonged to a friend of my dad who had stopped by to show it off. I can still remember how monstrously intimidating that bike looked to me back then. Funny how one's perspective changes over time. Since my dad was a Honda guy, I've always been a fan too, The CB designs that I look back on with the most fondness are the CB350 (my dad owned one), the CB400F and the DOHC CB750F (along with the CB900F). I like the fact that the CB1100 combines elements from many different past models rather than as a recreation of one single model.

As I grew older, street bikes appealed less and less to me as more and more plastic was added to their designs. I would have liked the looks/concept of the CB1100 at 7, 17, 27, 37, 47 and if I'm still around I'm sure that I'll still be digging it at 57 and beyond.

That's great that we have some younger riders adopting this bike. Their friends and families probably think they're wildmen for riding motorcycles, while we think they're level-headed and sensible (not to mention cool) for choosing the CB1100!

RE: Average CB1100 Rider Age
I'm 23
A good friend of mine always tries pushing me to get a sport bike, when I first got a bike, when I told him I was getting a new bike, and even now after getting the CB11 he suggests I should trade it in for something different.
I am not into sport bikes at all, the riding position and all the fairings just isn't me. Cruisers are nice but I like having my feet behind my knees, totally feels awkward having them out, I feel less in control. The CB750 was awesome and the CB11 is a sweet upgrade.

Once I have her paid off I think I might look for a used CB1000R, almost went with it as my new bike but I am more of a daily commuter guy, I like having fun on the weekends for sure but I can't afford two bike payments. I'll see how the CB11 does going up Palomar if weather permits Sunday.
