New from Barcelona
Hi all!

I'm Ruben from Barcelona, Monday I'm going to test a second hand 2012 CB1100 with only 2100km from a official Honda dealer.

Any comment about things that I would pay special attention on a second hand purchase?

Thanks and sorry for my english

Hi Ruben, welcome to the forum! I can't think of anything in particular to look out for when it comes to this bike. A test ride should be able to tell you plenty. Good luck!

Should be a nice area to ride, I was in Benidorm years ago, and also did software business with a company there called Picis.

Welcome. Your English is better than a lot of ours. Just look around at things like bar end levers, front fender edge, turn signals, footpegs, edges of the mirrors to make sure it hasn't been wrecked.

Buy it, join the forum and I think you will be our first Spaniard.

Welcome from Texas. Is the price fair, have you checked the net for value? Ask for history of bike like who owned it, previous owners age could tell you how it was treated.
Good Luck.

Ask for service records, was it done on time and the correct service. Check for any signs it was dropped, and check the engine case screws to see if it was opened. That is a sure sign of issues. Lift the seat an see if anyone messed with the electrical system.

Take it for a ride and look for any oil around the motor on your return. Tappet cover, head gasket area, oil cooler pipes etc.
2100 km its a demonstrator its just had or should have had it's first service.
Enjoy

Don't know it just goes.

Hola Rubén! y Bienvenido al... How do you say Forum in Spanish?
I bought mine without test riding it, only sat on it and felt at home. It was used too, but now it rides better after adjusting the chain and the suspension. The only thing I wish I could do is take her on some twisty roads. There are non where I live so I found a deserted Street and performed some zig zags. I don't recommend you doing this. The last thing you want to do is drop a bike that is not yours. All I can say is she can zig zag.
One more thing. As of late, a lot of folks have been having issues with the center stand, you might want to look into that.
