Welcome!

Are you sure about the spoked wheels? All of the European Standard pics I've seen show cast wheels, with spokes only for the EX model. Just looked at the picture on Honda.cz and they also show cast wheels for the standard.

thank you for warm welcome on the forum. You are right about spoke wheels, but it´s just a matter of language barrier. my bike will come with cast wheels, not wire wheels of course. I did not want to pay extra for dual exhaust (which I´ll buy aftermarket) and seat (which I can buy custom) although larger tank would be nice.

Here´s a very very old pic of my old 1968 Jawa bike:

My plans with CB is polished aluminium fairing and maybe Tadao exhaust. I would love to have a Mugen exhaust in black as seen on their concept bike...

ouch a little screwup from the dealership today. They called me that they can´t get me a white or red´14 as they promised and that all bikes which we get in our country are all black. I examined the pictures and have to say I dont like the combo of black bike, black engine and black wheels at all, it somehow looses its retro appeal it looks dull and sad and it looses its nice dominant motive of huge engine. So I have to decide if to get a ´13 standard in white (the last bike on stock which I put reservation on till Friday) , or ´14 in black. I´m of course leaning for white bike. What would you do?

Hi VTR1000F,

Personally, I would get the 2013 in white.

Welcome aboard - great to have you here, VTF. Love the pics you've posted.

While I think the all black '14 standard will look a little bit better in person than it appears in the marketing photos, it takes the bike in a different direction and seems meant for a different demographic. I vastly prefer the red/silver paint scheme on the '13 model and I prefer it over the all-black for exactly the reasons you mentioned.

For your choice in models, if I were in your shoes (since you asked), I would go for the '13 standard in white. It's strikes me as a very tasteful and sophisticated color scheme.

2013 in white. Exactly the same as mine.

I wouldn't do a straight swap for one of these new models to be honest, I love my bike just as it is, the original and best.

Hi VTR1000F, did I see you'd decided on the 2013 in white? Good choice.

Welcome VTR1000F, the '13 is a fine motorcycle, if the black one is a no go for you, the white '13 will put a smile on your face.

It seems that Wednesday is the day. I'll get the last new '13 bike in our country. They did not sell a lot of them though...
