Previous motorcycles
Ok, so what other motorcycles have you owned. Here's a list of my previous rides. My list would be a lot longer, but I spent 17 years working in motorcycle dealerships, and many years I had multiple demonstrators to ride, 4 or 5 Goldwings, a CBX, a CX 500, a 79 Limited Edition CB 750, a CB 750 F, a few Suzukis 750, 550, 380. I also raced Moto-X for about 10 years but didn 't list any of the dirt bikes

Anyhow, here are some bikes I have owned personally:

HARLEYS: 65 M50, 59 XLCH, 49 56 & 57 Pans, 94 XLCH

HONDAS: 66 CB160, 67 CL77, 69 CB350, 67 CB450, 76 CB750, 85 VF1100S, 00 CB750, 06 ST1300 13 CB1100

SUZUKIS: 76 GT750, 81 GS850G, 83 GS1100E

KAWASAKI: 77 KZ1000

YAMAHAS: 73 RD350, 73 TX650, 79 XS 650, 81 XS650, 04 FZ1, 01 FZ1, 06 YPV 400

TRIUMPH: 2003 T100

BSA: 69 750 Rocket 3

My dad was a rider, my 2 brothers are riders, 1 sister rode, my wife rides, my son rides and 2 nephews also ride so there are always lots of bikes at any family functions. We ( not me.. but members of the family) have also owned Indians, Moto Guzzis, Ducatis and KTMs. Chances are if its got 2 wheels and a motor one of us has either owned it or ridden it.

So what have you owned or ridden?

RE: Previous motorcycles
I have only owned 4 bikes...all Hondas.
1975 CB500T (more like a single...it was running on one cylinder most of the time)
1993 CB750 Nighthawk in Tahitian Blue (first new vehicle)
1993 CB750 Nighthawk in Tahitian Blue (see a pattern here? Wink )
2013 CB1100

Now I have had the pleasure of having some really good friends that would let me ride their bikes when I was without so I have also had the opportunity to ride a 1972 Honda CB350, 1999 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 "A".
And my other friends 1980 Kawasaki KZ1000 MK II.
İmage

RE: Previous motorcycles
I posted pics of all of them in the "Other Bikes" forum, but I'll list them here, too... Always fun to talk about them.

Yamaha TZR50, no idea what year... early 90s is all I know.
Yamaha XJR400, 94-ish. Had it for all of about three months before I wrecked it.
1986 Yamaha SR 400. I didn't like that bike so well, but aside from some petcock problems and the dual drum brakes, it never gave me too much grief, and I got around town just fine. Crashed it but it was still rideable for another year or so.
1983 Honda CBX 600E (Nighthawk 550 engine, slightly different body work)

Aside from these, I have also ridden on a Honda CB400 Super Four and a Suzuki 400cc scooter of some sort (both from driving school in Japan), and a Kawasaki ZZ-R 250 (my friend's bike in Japan).

I have to say, out of all of these, Honda makes the smoothest ride. The Yamaha XJR was reasonably smooth as well though, so I would go out on a limb and say if they made a naked inline 4 again, it could be pretty nice.

1975 Honda CB360T- could've been used as a paint shaker.
1977 Suzuki GS550- the best one.
1995 Suzuki Katana 600- most uncomfortable motorcycle I ever rode.
2001 Kawasaki ZR7-s- great bike once a few issues were fixed.

RE: Previous motorcycles
I moved this to the "Other Bikes" section. Seeing how most of us have a few years under our belts, I'm sure that there is plenty that can be contributed to this section.

in my case, the only other street bike that I've ridden/owned is my 1988 Honda Hawk GT. Previously my exposure to bikes is rooted in off-road machines of another era. I spent a fair amount of time on the following bikes:

1969 Honda Z50
1973 Honda XR75
1977 Honda XR75
1971 Kawasaki Centurion G31-M (100cc)
1977 Suzuki RM100
1973 Yamaha MX125

The Honda CB1100: STILL air-COOLed
Deposit placed 11/12/2012.
Received delivery 04/05/2013.

Never heard of a silver pigeon Huh

Great list of classic bikes CA.

Im amazed at how many had those early 2 stroke Yamahas.

The Super Sherpa is interesting. i have only seen 1. Neat bike.

I miss those Suzuki triple 2 strokes. They were very good bikes.
