pipe master 4 into 4
For many years I had a pipe master 6 into 6 on 80 CBX,easy to install and well made.I could retain the center stand what is very important to me.I did not have to rejet it or anything and the sound was great but a little loud.(like the Honda sixes from the sixties but not as loud)
Since living in a different area and often traveling on the Blue Ridge Parkway I took them of to be thoughtful of other people.A while ago I saw a Pipe Master 4 into 4 on a CB1100 and I wonder if anyone in Australia can comment on these.

The guy who writes this blog has the pipemasters 4 into 4 system on his CB1100:

They aren't a regular production item he says, but are custom made to order. I recall reading that he later had some baffles fitted to quiet them down some.

RE: pipe master 4 into 4
I liked the sound of the pipe master that's in the you tube video.

The fellow in Australia with the web site said that with the new pipes, which did not include the valve in the exhaust [a la Yamaha for low end torque], the the low end suffered:

"Be aware if you change the exhaust it will soften the lower rpm drive a little. The factory muffler has an interactive valve. I had to quieten my 4 to 4 down just to make it something to live with but in doing so my lower rpm response firmed back up and I was lucky to find the sweet spot where it is now."

Check out the website; it's very good.

The model released here in North America (and I believe in Europe as well) does not have the integrated valve in the exhaust and the bikes were tuned from the factory accordingly. Supposedly we got better low end performance as a result. (I'd have to do quite a bit a searching to find where I originally read that at.) At any rate, the impact of this particular exhaust system on these bikes might vary quite a bit from those CB1100s released in Australia and Japan. Just something to ponder.
