RE: What did you do on, or to, your CB today?
I took advantage of a mild day with a mid-50sF morning and mid-60sF afternoon to take my longest day ride around Elephant and Baptiste Lakes. I got a late start because it was foggy, but the sun soon burnt it off. The fall colours were not at their best yet: a lot of yellow, some orange, but no bright reds yet.
I was forced to make a long detour as one of my favourite roads was blocked with construction at the very end. The late start and detour forced me to skip a few rest stops and hustle on some on the straighter roads to make it home before dark. Fortunately I had brought some Aspirin with me so my sore back did not bother me on the 1 1/2 and 2 hour legs. Cheaper than buying a Corbin seat.
When the day was done I had ridden a little over 600 kilometers - 375 miles. I would have preferred a slower pace so I could enjoy the fall scenery and a few more rest stops. But any ride on a mild day at this time of year is a bonus.

Cold, windy day today but I rode the bikes to the gas station for their ritual end-of-season top off with fresh gas and Stabil. Got home, closed the garage door, and changed the oil and filter on the CB and F800GT before they could cool down. They're both very easy to do. The ski season opened here on Friday and the company I work for is planning to open its California and Colorado ski resorts in four weeks. Quite a bit of snow on the ground outside my windows. What happened to summer?
Ride more. Worry less.

Rode my bike to dealership to ask about idle issues, price valve check, new tires and such. On my way there I pull up to some traffic and a red light off about 15 cars away. Car in front of me has California plates (I'm in Portland, OR). I pull up directly behind her side mirror and I can see that she sees me. She makes every effort to pull over to the right a bit so that I can lane split down the middle!! It was quite obvious. I know CA has its problems, but that was way cool.
Thanks but no thanks--Had I taken her up on her kind offer, next car ahead would have opened its car door in front of me and the pickup after would have pulled towards the middle to block my path.

Rode the last 350 miles to get my CB11 back home from Idaho. It's got 5K miles more than it had when I rode it north 3 months ago. It'll need a serious bath, an oil change, chain maintenance, chain guard replacement and a fork seal fix. Yeah she's been ridden hard this summer and looks it

Flynrider it would be a great time to slap some gaiters on when you replace the seals .
