Out of curiosity, why did you get rid of the CB900c?

The guy i bought my 1100 from lost his job and could make the payments on this bike, I couldn't see leaving him without a bike so i gave it to him in the deal I was tired of messing with the carbs and other stuff, I will really miss that bike it was shaft drive 30k and Sean had just redid my carbs I gave him a solid bike.

Lots of folks say they'll never go back to owning a chain-drive bike. Your CB900 story reminds me that I'll "never" go back to owning a bike with carbs, especially while I'm living in Colorado (altitude). But I'm okay with chains. Sorry your 900 had to go. Bikes become part of the family and it can be tough to say goodbye.

Well that's a nice way to to do it. You won't regret it a bit. I find the 1100 to be the best of both worlds. Classic ride and style, modern reliability and convenience.

There's a stretch along that road where every other curve or so is staked with a cross, I guess to commemorate a car accident victim. Around one particular curve, however, there are about 30 crosses in a big clump. I always figured they marked the victims of a school bus that went off the road.

Is the Space Age Restaurant still in business in Gila? Funky place.

Hey LR, the back road from Gila Bend to Tucson is one of my favorite winter rides. Unfortunately, I had to stick close to town for work.

Good guess on the Space Age Restaurant! That's where I stopped for lunch. It's definitely a quirky looking place, but they do have the best food in town.

Saw some interesting bikes today while riding the CB750 out to the airport to do some plane maintenance. While headed to the freeway I was passed by a pristine looking, early 70s gold CB750. That thing was so shiny it was almost blinding in the sunlight.

As I approached the airport on the freeway, I pulled up next to a guy riding the same Tahitian Blue '93 Nighthawk that I was riding. He was even wearing a bright yellow helmet! It was like looking in a mirror. We both got a pretty good laugh. The blue Nighthawk was only produced in small numbers for one year, so it's rare to see another one on the road (kinda like CB1100s).

I pulled the bike from consignment before winter hit and got a few rides in between then and yesterday... when I sold the bike.

The right buyer found my Craigslist ad the day after I posted it. He drove the bike, and paid cash. Even managed to get some extra money for the Hepco & Becker hard bags/mounts. One less thing to worry about before I move back to Japan (just waiting for HR to meet my salary requirement).

I will miss the CB.

yesterday I stopped by at my local Honda service dealer, very local like in 1,7 kilometers Cool
İmage
He is another young passionate mechanic that is actually specialised in classic Honda motorcycles and doing customs.

But he is also qualified to do maintenance on bikes in general as well.
The local pizza delivery guys come to him for their scooters.

His site even has a white CB1100 at the homepage, but untill yesterday he NEVER seen one in the flesh, so I could tell I made his day Big Grin
