The waiting game....
Salutations! I am a little early here. I am going to the dealer on Wednesday to sign the papers for my new '14 DLX. Very excited, but trying to maintain my composure. Hopefully the bike will be delivered Thursday evening. Anything to watch out for upon delivery? This is my first time buying new. Seems like a great community here. I look forward to being a part of it

RE: The waiting game....
Welcome and congratulations
The Honda CB 1100 is a wonderful motorcycle and the Deluxe is flat beautiful IMO.your bike will probably come a little overfilled with oil. Not a big deal but the oil will probably cover the window. Be sure and check your tire pressure. Dealers are notoriously poor at checking such things. 36 front 42 rear.
Other than that...enjoy!

RE: The waiting game....
Good luck sleeping this week... I bet you spend a lot of it looking at pictures of bikes "just like your bike". At pick up, check over anywhere that fluids or anything else replaceable goes, even if you bike is shipped wet there is always a chance for top off during dealer prep. I picked up a new bike one time and discovered a screw missing from the front brake reservoir cap about half way home. Black screws, black metal, easy enough to miss but fairly crucial an potentially very bad for the paint. Your tires and brakes will both be brand new, you are supposed to be breaking in the engine anyway, but always a good idea to take it easy with new tires and brakes. I almost always do an electrics preflight (signals, horn, etc) even after years of ownership but not a bad idea for first pickup since the thing has been shipped.
I might be wrong, I sometime am.

Make sure you get the tool kit, manuals, the rubber band to hold tool kit in place. On mine last week they did not properly install the plastic box under the seat. There is one screw and a plastic rivet like device to hold it in place.
Go over the bike in fine detail looking for scratches in the finish and controls. I found righthand controls red button nicked up and the black trim around speedometer bezel scratched. So Honda has to replace.
After home I checked oil filter was hand tight, oil filler plug was at torque setting (it was not) and exhaust nuts were at torque setting (some were some were not).
Have fun!

Maintain your composure? If ever there was a time to not do so, this would be it. Go crazy man, and enjoy! Welcome to the forum.
