If you can get some, get extras and pass them on to fellow forum members in the same boat.

That would be the plan.

I think the red accessory connector in the headlight bucket might be a Sumitomo HM-090 (male, 2-pin).

Have a look at this link http://www.cycleterminal.com/hm-sealed-series-090.html

About 1/2 way down, to the section "2 pin HM 090 Male and Female locking connector". The male half looks identical (except for the color) to the "cap" from the red connector in the headlight bucket.

I haven't tried this connector yet...will first see if I can find a supplier in Canada so shipping is more reasonable.

Well finally, this does look like the connector type.

I may have to order some and play around with them. I thought too that I had found some Deutsch connectors that looked like some of ours, but never investigated further.

Townie, please let us know what you find. And I will if I get some.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it!

Yes, will do. I'm going to check a couple local electronics shops first, and if that fails, will likely order one from the above supplier.

RE: Wiring a gps
The Sumitomo connector mentioned above works perfectly.

I added one of these connectors to a cigarette lighter socket pigtail, and it powers up my GPS. The circuit also shuts off when the ignition is off.

There's also plenty of space in the hole at the back of the headlight bucket to let the Sumitomo connector pass through.

I like this setup, because I don't need a cigarette lighter socket very often. It takes 5 minutes to pop off the headlight and add it in now. I'm happy with it.
