is this the first flat tire ???
This afternoon I was all dressed to take my CB1100 for another ride and when I tried to push the bike out of the garage I noticed a flat rear tire!I must have picked up a nail on my last ride a few days ago and I only have 347 miles on it.I can repair it myself as I always carry a mushroom style Stop and Go repair kit on my rides but feel safer with anew tire. This might be a change to get a better tire although the BS seems to work ok.I have Avon rears on my other bikes,Road Rider on my CBX,s and Cobra on my CB1000,s.I have not looked yet for a replacement, probably not too many choices and I might have to go up slightly in width to find a good or better tire.Has any one looked for a different tire yet?

RE: is this the first flat tire ???
Chris in the UK had the first flat I think. Since the tire was new, he had them put in a tube till he replaces it.

CA200 is the tire man. Hopefully he will chime in.

Putting a tube in a tubless tire of any sort is not recommended, but especially with a radial tire due to the probability of a wire from the pierced belt protruding into the tube and puncturing it as well.
I would strongly suggest a new tire and be done with it. Those repair kits are good for on road repairs, but nothing permanent.

RE: is this the first flat tire ???
The best choice at this time is to replace it with the OEM tire from the dealer. Do not be tempted to put a bias tire on.
We never put tubes in tubeless rims. We also refused to plug tires at all. The risk is just to high. The plug will always come out
when you over load the bike and the tire psi gets low. ( Their kids or grand kids will sue your pants off after the crash!)
With radial tires it is best to match brands front to back. Tire profiles on radial tires can very a lot brand to brand even though
they are the same size. The way a radial tire " bounces " is not at all like bias tire rides. I am sure a lot of us, because this is
not our first time at this , has heard some rider say" When I hit that bump the bike went into a wild tank slapper ". Most times
it's the tires.

I always put a new tire on after a puncture ,just plug it to get home.I never had a BS tire before on any of my bikes but really liked the tire on the CB1100 so far.I went to the dealer today to order the exact replacement and they are still very rare in the USA and very expensive! I had to pay $173 plus tax and than the mounting later when I take the wheel in.At the moment it is only available thru Honda as this tires was made for our bike.I could have found a different make and perhaps slightly bigger size but wanted to see how this original tire works out over the long run.Hopefully more tires will become available in this size soon .Motto: try not to get a flat rear tire !!!
