I will check with my state to find out! Mississippi is a very easy state to deal with motor vehicles. We can take a salvage title and have it cleaned to a regular title for $70. I think we the only state left that can do that! We can build homemade trailers etc and get titles on them.

I wonder whether it's also worth asking Honda US whether they can tell you if the bike manufactured for the UK would comply with US regulation and, if not, where they differ. If you had to make changes to meet emission standards, I imagine it could get very expensive.

Check with the Feds first. Customs will not release it until you've cleared all of their hurdles,,,,then you get to deal with the state.

Cormanus I have already checked on emissions they are the same in the UK as the USA. I had already read that about the headlight being a different bulb before I even talked to the UK honda dealer.

Damfino I'm just a poor Mississippi kid eating potted meat. & crackers. Trying to fill my stable lol

I too would be on board for a CB1300. How much would it cost to ship it from the UK? If Samurider could sell them it would be here in two days!

I believe that since it is a model and engine that is not sold in the US, that the bike is not 'federalized' and it will be a tough import process. Different than, say, importing a CB1100 that may just have a different headlight or reflectors. There is another option. I saw a guy at a bike night with a Suzuki GSX1400, a model never sold in the US. He bought it In the UK, and had the engine and frame shipped over separately. Then had the frame titled as a 'special construction' bike in New Jersey, and stuck the engine back in, which is what custom builders do when they build choppers and cafés. It takes some commitment to do that, but he did it!

No more CB, but a GB.
Triumphs and Ducatis.
A Norton, MV, and Morini 175.
Probably others.

Back in my Navy days, we bought crated bikes in the Exchange in Yokosuka and they were loaded on the carrier (CV-64). Customs agents checked every one for the tag on the triple tree that says the bike mets fed. requirements.

One bike had been snuck aboard and they found it. I was told the guy had to post bond and make the bike meet the requirements, but I don't know the final outcome. This was 1977

If you come to a fork in the road, take it!
