1st Post - Anxious new owner from Philly
Hey All,

Happy to say that as of today, I put a deposit down on a CB1100. I mentioned anxious because I was not able to take her home today. It's going to be a long and painful 2-day wait. Purchased it at Deptford Honda Yamaha and I am happy with the deal and service I received.

A little background about myself. I'm 31 years old and have only been riding for 1.5 years. I've taken 3 rider courses but have almost 6k miles under my belt. The CB will be my 3rd bike, my other two being a Triumph Bonneville and Triumph Speed Triple. I'm very excited about this bike and the short test ride confirmed it for me. I hope to keep it for many years to come. Here are pictures of my bikes.

Looks like a terrific stable of bikes and welcome to the forum. I cannot give you advice on how the CB11 rides because my only previous experience is with a Yamaha 300 45 years ago and a CB250 at the rider course. I bought the CB1100 on it's looks and Honda's reputation. So far that leap of faith has not bitten me in the rear end. As a novice I do love the way the motor on this bike just has no end of power. And it stops really, really good.

If you would put your head in a helmet it wouldn't be empty.

Welcome CBville. Nice bike collection. I like the way you modded the Bonneville. I would remove the chain guard to complete the concept. Smile As you have probably discovered both Honda and after market support for the CB11 is quite limited at this time. Hopefully things will improve as time goes on. Bazzaz is apparently developing a fuel controller for the CB11 which will open the door to stage 1 performance mods like you have done to your Bonneville. Watch the forum for further updates. Again, welcome to the forum.

Welcome aboard. I like the way you've modded the Bonnie and the Speed Triple looks great with the low pipe.

Hope you're able to sleep the next two nights! Big Grin

Thanks everyone! One restless night down, one more to go. Modifying bikes has been so addicting and almost as fun as riding them. But the CB I feel is so classic in it's looks and come with all the right bits out of the gate, that I hope to keep it mostly stock. There were so many cheap components on the Bonneville that I could not wait to ditch them.

Anyone who disses the CB11 has never checked it out thoroughly enough. It's build wonderfully and so well engineered. Definitely built to it's $10k asking price and honestly worth every penny. I bought the Bonneville for $7699 and the CB11 for $8950. The engine alone is worth the difference, not to mention better brakes, build quality, and overall feel.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my Bonnie and it will be an heirloom. But it took a lot of extra work to get it how I wanted it. I won't be so biased and not look at things objectively, like so many other members on the Rat forums. The CB11 will be a keeper and I hope it will be a classic someday like it's predecessors.

Welcome. Nice Triumphs. I purchased a new Speed Triple back in 1997 ( Lucifer Orange ) . I loved that bike. Not one single issue for the entire time I owned it! Has since been sold in 2007. Still own a 2002 Bonneville America. My wife rides the America most of the time. You will enjoy the cb1100 very much, I can safely predict.
