For about 5 years now, I have been wearing Motoport's Kevlar Air Mesh Jacket. 10 times stronger than new competition grade leather, yet breaths like a t-shirt.

I feel a lot more like I do now than I did when I got here.

On road trips I use a Tourmaster mesh Jacket (Intake 3,0). Around town I wear a Cycle Gear Bilt mesh jacket as it is less heavy. Yeah its inexpensive, but it was my first non-leather jacket and I like it.

However around here I notice that a LOT of riders just wear T-shirts, flip flops or tennis shoes and no gloves. Hummm

If you come to a fork in the road, take it!

Just to add to the Joe Rocket recommendations, while I have loved my JR mesh for a long time now the quality of the product is definitely not their strong point. Ingenuity at the price point, definitely. I've replaced the armor in mine twice, each time it disintegrates after a season or two! Like it literally falls to pieces... If you go with a JR I would highly recommend replacing the pads with heavier duty aftermarket pads.

Just razzin' ya (mostly). I paid big $$ for my helmet, but I go on the cheap for the other stuff

My "every day jacket" for summer is the Held Born 46 leather jacket. Bought it when it was on sale for 200 EUR. Now after some years it is already a bit worn out but with nice patina. Big Grin

RJays Octane mesh jacket. An oldie but a goodie. Around town I like it but for long or "interesting" rides I still go full leathers.

Cheers

Well I am returning the speed and strength jacket and I just got this one in the mail, in black. First Gear Jacket I like it, has lots of pockets and seems to be well made. Looks better too, the other jacket was not really me and had only 2 pockets.

It was a tough bill to swallow, as I got the pants also! But, in the end, they are far better protection than leather, filled with excellent armor, and highly functional at staying cool in the extreme Houston humidity and heat.

I feel a lot more like I do now than I did when I got here.
