Yeh. But not sure about the OEM RLETs. I think the design team were asleep on the job there. After market is the way to go. Look at Durex, or Rainbow. Lightweight and reliable.

Cheers

If I were to do it again, I'd get the 'Ribbed for pleasure' RLET's. Regardless of your knob protection choice, 2- wheeler, congrats on the DLX, and welcome!

No more CB, but a GB.
Triumphs and Ducatis.
A Norton, MV, and Morini 175.
Probably others.

Ferret, That was exactly my reaction when I got home from my ST trip last July! Smile

I have the same reaction as you guys do after I ride my Honda NT700 ("sport" tourer) and then take the CB out. The 700 feels like a slow, wallowing pig after a ride on the CB.
Funny thing, I thought the NT700 was a quick, easy handling bike until I bought the CB. The CB 400 twin I recently sold felt like a bicycle. Definitely a different era there with that one.

I am currently a member of several forums including Yamaha Star Bike, PT Boats, Curio & Relics, CR-V and a couple of vintage guitar/amp forums. Currently riding an ’09 Vstar-250 after a 25 year hiatus from the fun. I have enjoyed changing the sprocket ratios on the V-Star 250 and implementing other mods/changes. It is a fun bike to ride but, at 21 HP, it is simply under powered. Sometimes you need some extra power to move in and out of traffic safely. My previous bike, back in the day, was an ’82 Yamaha Maxim 750. It was an in-line four cylinder like the CB1100 with similar size, weight, and power. I am excited to say that my next bike, in a few weeks, will be a 2014 CB1100 DLX. I just bought it on Ebay with only 920 miles on it and have just put the check in the mail. It was the 1st used 2014 DLX that I have seen for sale. Gotta wait for the check to clear and then have it shipped to me. I have enjoyed reviewing the vast amount of info in this forum for the past six months, particularly reading about the mods and add-ons. I thought seriously about buying a restored CB750. However, you guys seem to be so pleased with your bikes that I decided to go modern with the retro classic look of the CB1100. My first two add-ons will be RLETs and fork gaiters thanks to the helpful info found in this forum. Thanks for having me.
