Saddened by this, he was a fixture here. Thoughts go out to his family and friends.

No more CB, but a GB.
Triumphs and Ducatis.
A Norton, MV, and Morini 175.
Probably others.

Sad news, perhaps a pictorial thread to remember these members is in order.

What sad news to find on the forum this morning. His posts were always interesting and I was looking forward to meeting him at the upcoming rally. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

Here's a couple of excerpts from a recent ride report by OldF7Guy. It's clear that he loved riding and his new CB1100.

Post: #10RE: Jan 17 CB ride

"I got out today myself because I am having serious withdraws of not riding in a while."

"Got my CB11 late in the year and not had a real good chance to really bond with it and fiddle with clutch, brake and shifter adjustments and what not. I tinkered with some of that stuff today trying to get it adjusted the way I want it."

"Other than the wind, I had a great ride today and really really like the CB11. I just find little to gripe about on this bike. Yes, I can nit pick a few little things but my ride today confirms why I bought it. Zero regrets."

I don't think I ever saw a pic of him. He did post pics of his Nighthawk and his 13 CB1100.

Eric was actually the 3rd member of the forum, joining the day Guth set it up, actually less than 7 hours after Guth put the forum on line. It's funny when he did his intro, 1 member welcomed him, Guth, which was 50% of the membership at the time ha ha. He was a daily poster but only averaged 1 post per day. At one point he was called the most prolific poster to have never owned a CB1100, but in October of last year he changed that when he got his '13, CB 1100, maybe 18 months after expressing the desire to get one. That bike was soon up for sale though as what he really wanted was a 14 dlx and I believe he was shopping for one at the time of his demise.

His last post was in the weather thread. It was cold and his truck was stuck in the snow in the driveway

-2 with -18 wind chills and I am under a foot of snow literally stuck in my driveway. I have not been able to get out for 3 days now. Its one of those rare times I wish I had a 4x4 and a snow blower. We are not used to this and it is miserable. There is not much let up in sight either. ugg.

to which the Ferret replied:
OldF7.... yesterday when I was using the snow blower which is many years old, I thought right now if I needed a new motorcycle and needed a new snow blower, and only had enough money for one..I'd get the snowblower.

Old F7 replied

I hear ya man. I was thinking what kind of idiot would own 2 motorcycles in this mess, but here I am. Spent half a day trying to dig out my stuck truck in the drive and got that done. Then, I tried to clear off what I could in hopes of getting out. About that time, the snow plow came by and left 3 feet of snow at the end of the driveway. Angry Then, the wind blew like crazy and covered up all of my work. Now, its so cold I have just accepted that I'm not going anywhere. I'm too old for this shoveling.

Hopefully, this weekend the temps will get up enough to help some. Its about as miserable as I remember being in a while. I know the guys up north will laugh but this is a pretty rare occasion down in Kentucky.

......and that was his last post.

His last visit to the forum was at 6:01 A.M. on the morning of his death.

Going to miss him!
